Quality food, although it’s a little bit on the pricier side. Ricky was an amazing server—super friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She suggested adding the bone marrow, and it complemented the pho perfectly. You can tell she really knows the menu and cares about making sure you have a great experience. Definitely worth a try!

Absolutely loved my experience here! The food is authentic and delicious—some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in a long time. A huge shoutout to Chris, who was an incredible server. Excellent service and great vibes. Highly recommend!

I stopped by Chef Papa in LIC on a Thursday evening and was seated immediately, which was a great start. Don’t let the facade fool you into thinking the place is narrow—lo and behold, the inside opens up into a really nice, spacious layout complete with mezzanine seating. Since this was my first time trying this location, I can't compare it to the one in Flushing, but the food completely stood on its own. We ordered the truffle fries for an appetizer, Thai iced tea for drinks, and the signature pho and grilled pork chop for our mains. The pho was incredible, featuring a deeply flavorful broth and perfectly tender meat, which tasted amazing with a splash of Sriracha for some added spice. The grilled pork chop was a pleasant surprise; its sweet profile strongly reminded me of sweet ham or tocino from back home in the Philippines, and whether or not that is how traditional Vietnamese pork chops are usually prepared, I really loved it. We finished off the meal with the mango sticky rice, which was also really good. I would highly recommend this place to anyone—definitely give it a try, as you might just discover something new about your palette, whether it's good or bad!

This was my second time to dine in but this time I brought my family for Mother’s Day. It’s rare to find bún riêu anywhere in NYC because most Vietnamese restaurants don’t make it. Chef Papa makes the best bún riêu with a combination of fish cakes, ribs and crab meatballs, and the rice noodles. The tomato broth is delicious and the dish is very filling that I couldn’t finish. My family had fried rice and pork chop pho and they loved them a lot, too The vibe of the restaurant is family-friendly, the environment is sort of quiet. Daniel was our waiter and his service was excellent. Will definitely recommend this place and come again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our Friday night here. We’ve passed by many times while the restaurant was still preparing to open, and we finally tried it yesterday! I ordered the Bún Riêu, my husband got the classic Bánh mì, and we shared the pork belly buns as an appetizer. ​The pork belly bun was definitely my favorite. The mint in the middle adds a sudden refreshing hit when you hit the herb. If I’m nitpicking, I wish the bun itself had been a bit hotter and softer, but honestly, it was delicious. ​The Bún Riêu was also amazing, packed with umami and the toppings were so tasty. The pork rib was incredibly tender and just fell off the bone. ​I also tried a bit of my husband’s Bánh mì, and it was easily the crispiest baguette I’ve ever had. We were still thinking about that bread the next morning! The minced meat inside was also very flavorful. ​The staff are very friendly and welcoming. My only minor wish is that the seat was a little wider, but to be fair, it’s a standard size for NYC.
